[Financial News] The Korean Council for University Education (KCUE) said on the 15th that applicants submitted an average of 4.96 applications each for 2027 early admissions. KCUE identified 428 applicants who exceeded the six-application limit in advance and advised the universities concerned to take measures such as canceling their applications.
According to KCUE, 527,717 people applied to 210 institutions, including campuses, for this year's early admissions, with a total of 2,614,903 applications. KCUE collected and analyzed the application data and advised universities where violations had occurred to take action after confirming the cases with the applicants.
Under the “Basic Guidelines for University Admissions,” applicants may apply to a maximum of six early-admission programs. Applications from the seventh onward, in order of receipt, are not accepted. If a violation is discovered, admission will be invalidated. However, industrial universities, junior colleges, universities established under special laws, and admissions tracks with flexible application periods are excluded from the application-count limit.
KCUE plans to check for violations of application and registration rules in the upcoming regular and additional admissions rounds as well. It urged applicants not to apply for regular or additional admissions after being accepted through early admissions, submit multiple applications to the same group in regular admissions, apply for additional admissions after registering for regular admissions, or register at more than one institution.
Applicants can log in to the college admissions information portal Adiga and, after verifying their identity, check their application status and whether they have violated any rules under “My Page → College Application Information.” The information is not provided in real time.
