[Financial News] Lee Sang-jung, president of the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), said, “We have officially been asked to send specialists to the special prosecutor’s investigation into the National Election Commission and are conducting an open recruitment process,” adding, “We will finalize it today.”
At a parliamentary audit of public institutions in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector by the National Assembly’s Science, ICT, Broadcasting and Communications Committee in Yeouido, Seoul, on the 15th, Lee said, “The first round of open recruitment concluded last week,” adding, “If there are no applicants, we will hold a second round.”
After its launch, the special prosecutor’s investigation into the National Election Commission is expected to form a forensic team and receive support from relevant specialists, including KISA. The investigation is scheduled to continue through the end of December.
Asked why the open recruitment process was being held, he said, “Open recruitment has been the trend recently,” and declined to comment on the possibility of exercising personnel authority.
In response to concerns that the open recruitment process could delay the special prosecutor’s investigation, and calls from both ruling and opposition parties to select specialists promptly, he said, “I will make sure it is finalized today.”
