[Financial News] The Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) is embarking on companywide management innovation, using artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the speed of housing supply and residential services for the public. It will establish a dedicated AI Innovation Office and launch an implementation framework in which the chief executive officer (CEO) personally oversees the AI transformation process.
LH said it held the “LH AI Transformation” declaration ceremony on the 15th at its Seoul Regional Headquarters, attended by President Lee Seong-hun and senior executives.
President Lee presented AI transformation as a key management agenda for LH and formalized the launch of an operating framework in which the CEO directly promotes and oversees the execution of AI transformation (AX). In his first CEO AX message, he also announced concrete implementation plans, including the establishment of the AI Innovation Office.
In its declaration, LH set out three key commitments: to pursue AI transformation as a core management agenda; to provide direct CEO support and promote execution; and to establish an operating framework that links AI implementation to companywide management performance.
LH’s plan is to move beyond adopting individual technologies and translate AI use into tangible results, including faster housing supply and improved residential services for the public.
LH is already applying AI to key areas of work, including construction site safety, housing defect management and resident care. At construction sites, it links the AI video analysis system “Neulbom A-Eye” with the real-time integrated construction information system “RICS” to identify and manage 20 high-risk sites each day. LH expects its AI-based building information modeling (BIM) earthwork design automation software to reduce the volume of earth transported by about 7%.
LH has also introduced a “one-stop defect management system” that automatically classifies and logs defects using AI. The system has cut the defect processing time by 31%, from 18 days to 12.5 days. In 2025, it was selected as an outstanding AI innovation case by the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Korean Society for Public Enterprises.
The number of people covered by “Clova CareCall,” an AI care-call service that provides companionship and health management to older adults living alone and others, was expanded from 1,200 last year to 9,400 this year.
LH has built an “LH AI Work Knowledge System” that allows employees to search in natural language through approximately 300,000 internal regulations and guidelines. LH expects the system to save 10,833 work hours annually.
“AI transformation is a defining change of the times that will determine LH’s competitiveness going forward. With today’s declaration ceremony as a starting point, we will actively support and promote AI transformation,” LH President Lee Seong-hun said. “All our employees will work together to use AI to accelerate innovation in housing for the public and deliver management results that people can feel.”
