【Hanoi, Vietnam — Correspondent Kim Jun-seok】A Korean business delegation including K Partners, HPT Korea and BK Energy held a series of meetings with leaders of the Hung Yen provincial government to discuss investment cooperation across a range of sectors, including industrial parks, urban development, renewable energy and semiconductors.
According to local media reports on the 15th, a Korean business delegation led by Hwang Il-cheon, CEO of K Partners, visited the Hung Yen Provincial People’s Committee headquarters on the 14th and met with Nguyễn Mạnh Quyền, chairman of the committee.
Hwang praised Hung Yen Province’s outstanding investment advantages and development potential, saying, “I hope the Korean business delegation will explore investment and cooperation opportunities in a range of sectors, including real estate development, urban and industrial park development, construction, logistics, water supply and treatment, power and solar energy, information technology (IT), digital platforms, and distribution and trade.”
Hwang added, “I ask that information be shared on projects Korean companies are pursuing or plan to pursue in Hung Yen Province. We intend to consider various approaches—including direct investment, joint investment, establishing joint ventures, participating in projects and technical cooperation—in line with companies’ capabilities and local development needs.”
In response, Chairman Nguyễn Mạnh Quyền instructed the relevant departments to proactively provide the Korean companies with the master plan, a list of projects, investment promotion priorities and related incentive programs. He also said, “We will support Korean companies in identifying at an early stage the areas with potential for cooperation and specific projects in Hung Yen Province.”
At the meeting, the Hung Yen Department of Construction also presented the “Hung Yen Province Urban Master Plan for 2021–2030 and Vision for 2050.” Hung Yen is pursuing development across three functional zones: a northern zone focused on industry, urban development, logistics and advanced technology; a central zone serving as a hub for administration, culture and connected development; and a coastal zone expected to drive new growth through the maritime economy, energy and port logistics. Based on this plan, the province intends to focus on attracting investment from Korean companies in industrial parks, urban and housing development, technical infrastructure, logistics, energy and advanced technology.

BK Energy said it had surveyed 66 companies in South Korea involved in semiconductor and chip manufacturing and compiled information on them, adding that 17 of those companies had expressed interest in investing in Vietnam. It also indicated its intention to invest in projects in Hung Yen Province involving eco-friendly energy and the manufacture and operation of renewable energy equipment.
Vice Chairman Hòa said the areas Korean companies had expressed interest in “are precisely aligned with Hung Yen Province’s efforts to attract high-tech industries, develop green industries and pursue sustainable growth.” He added, “We hope HPT Korea and BK Energy will continue exploring opportunities for cooperation and serve as a bridge connecting Hung Yen Province with Korean companies that have the technological expertise and financial capacity to contribute, particularly in semiconductors and advanced technology.”
