Through the award, the company is responding to surging U.S. electricity demand driven by the expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) and data centers, while once again demonstrating its technological competitiveness in the local market.
Taihan Cable & Solution Co., Ltd. said on the 15th that its U.S. subsidiary, T.E.USA, had won an ultra-high-voltage power grid project in the United States on a turnkey basis. The U.S. subsidiary will oversee the project as a whole, including local engineering and construction, while the company's headquarters will manufacture and supply key materials, such as ultra-high-voltage cables and accessories.
Accordingly, Taihan Cable & Solution Co., Ltd.'s headquarters and its U.S. subsidiary signed a materials supply contract worth approximately 120 billion won and disclosed the agreement. Details such as the total value of the turnkey project, including construction and engineering, and the client are not being disclosed in accordance with a confidentiality agreement with the client.
The company said the award was significant because it once again demonstrated the project execution experience and technological competitiveness Taihan Cable & Solution Co., Ltd. has built up in the U.S. power grid market.
Taihan Cable & Solution Co., Ltd. continues to achieve business success in the local market, having also won an ultra-high-voltage turnkey project in the United States worth approximately 100 billion won in January.
In particular, the company has demonstrated its technological competitiveness in the local market by winning all 500-kV HVAC (extra-high-voltage alternating-current transmission) underground power grid projects commissioned in the United States and securing a cable supply contract for 320-kV HVDC (extra-high-voltage direct-current transmission).
In the United States, electricity demand has been rising rapidly amid the growth of the AI industry and an increase in data center construction, driving greater investment in replacing aging power grids and building new ones. Taihan Cable & Solution Co., Ltd. plans to strengthen its position in the ultra-high-voltage cable market while expanding orders for high-value-added products such as HVDC and submarine cables.
