[Financial News] An event is being held this autumn where visitors can admire a variety of gardens and experience garden culture firsthand.
Busan City will host the Busan Garden Show from the 15th to the 18th at Busan Nakdong River Garden in Sasang-gu.
This year’s Garden Show theme is “A Life with Gardens, Stories Connected by Gardens.” It conveys how gardens connect nature and people, and people with one another.
A total of 40 garden works will be on display at the venue, including specialized gardens, ESG corporate partnership gardens, exchange gardens, local artists’ gardens, and citizen-participation gardens.
Each garden showcases different themes and character through plants, natural materials, and creative design, offering visitors the diverse charms of gardens.
Among them, the garden showcasing exchanges with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and local artists’ gardens reflecting the distinctive character of each autonomous district depict how the city and the region communicate through gardens.
Spaces where citizens can take part in creating and tending gardens will also be set up. These include the “Introduction to Garden Studies 101 Garden,” with five participating institutions including Pusan National University; 10 “Big Palm Gardens” created through a public contest; and six “I, Too, Am a Gardener Gardens,” involving citizen gardeners and others. These are spaces where the ideas and participation of citizens and local communities are brought to life as gardens.
Kim Chang-deok, the city’s director general of the Green City Bureau, said, “I hope the Busan Garden Show will be a time for citizens to get up close to gardens and share in their beauty and value.”
