[Financial News] It was confirmed that two people died after fires broke out one after another overnight at a motel and a detached house in Busan.
According to the Busan Fire and Disaster Headquarters on the 15th, it received a report at around 9:35 p.m. on the 14th that a fire had broken out on the fourth floor of a motel building in Gwaebeop-dong, Sasang-gu, Busan. Then, at around 10:45 p.m. that same day, it received a report of a fire at a detached house in Toseong-dong, Seo-gu, Busan.
Fire authorities responding to the motel in Gwaebeop-dong after receiving the report fully extinguished the fire in about 50 minutes. However, a 65-year-old man identified as A was found in cardiac arrest in the bathroom of the room where the fire broke out. He was taken to a hospital and confirmed dead.
Fire authorities responding to the detached house in Toseong-dong extinguished the fire in about an hour. However, a 43-year-old man identified as B was found collapsed at the scene. He was pronounced dead there.
A fire official explained, “At the motel in Gwaebeop-dong, signs of concrete spalling and intense heat damage were observed in the area beneath the air conditioner in the living room, so we believe that area was the point of initial ignition. However, we plan to conduct a joint investigation with police and others to determine the exact cause of the fire. At the house in Toseong-dong, the interior of the second floor where the fire broke out was extensively damaged by fire, making it difficult to identify the point of origin. We also plan to conduct a joint investigation to determine the exact cause.”
