[Financial News] Samsung Electronics has unveiled AI home appliance and HVAC technologies in Southeast Asia that reflect customers’ lifestyles and the region’s hot, humid climate. It also introduced solutions ranging from managing food in refrigerators to centrally managing cooling and energy use across multiple business sites.
Samsung Electronics said on the 15th that it had held its Southeast Asia Home Appliance Tech Seminar, “The Brief,” in Hanoi, Vietnam, on the 14th.
The event took place at the Business Experience Studio, which opened in Hanoi’s PVI Tower. The exhibition space presents Samsung Electronics’ products and solutions in a commercial-facility setting, and was attended by media outlets and influencers from across Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore.
Samsung Electronics demonstrated an AI home experience that controls devices or suggests useful features according to users’ lifestyles and situations. It introduced the “AI Vision” feature, which uses a refrigerator’s built-in camera to track food items being put in and taken out.
It also showcased “FoodNote,” which analyzes a week’s food usage and compiles it into a report, and “What Should I Eat Today?”, which recommends recipes using ingredients in the refrigerator. The services link the feature for checking stored food to assistance with shopping and cooking.
As a product-care service, Samsung introduced “Home Appliance Remote Support (HRM),” through which a specialist remotely analyzes a device’s condition and advises users on what steps to take. It also outlined free software upgrades, available for up to seven years for products equipped with Wi-Fi.
In the HVAC sector, Samsung displayed products and control solutions for use in settings ranging from homes to commercial facilities such as hotels and offices.
The Bespoke AI WindFree Combo Pro wall-mounted air conditioner for homes features “Motion Blade,” which controls the direction of cool air, and a “Motion Radar Sensor,” which detects the user’s location, activity level and absence, among other things. It adjusts airflow according to the user’s lifestyle patterns and the conditions of the space.
For business-to-business (B2B) customers, Samsung showcased the “DVM S2” outdoor unit for system air conditioners in large buildings, along with WindFree one-way and four-way ceiling cassette indoor units. It also demonstrated “SmartThings Pro,” which connects air conditioners with Internet of Things (IoT) devices. The solution manages device status and energy use across multiple business sites on a single platform.
Lee Sang-jik, vice president of Samsung Electronics’ DA Business Division, said, “Building on Samsung Electronics’ differentiated AI technology and connectivity, we will provide tangible value and convenience to both customers in Southeast Asia and B2B partners.”
