[Financial News] Independent research firm Bullet forecast that Hironic would post record earnings this year, driven by factors including U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance and increased consumables sales. It assigned a “Buy” rating but did not set a target price.
On the 15th, Ahn Byeong-uk, a researcher at Bullet, said, “Hironic’s consolidated revenue for the first half of this year rose 32.6% year on year to 20.4 billion won, while operating profit increased 33.5% to 2.6 billion won.” He added, “It achieved record first-half revenue and its highest operating profit in 11 years.”
Consumables sales are also expected to grow as medical device sales increase. Hironic’s consumables revenue rose 33%, from 8.4 billion won in 2024 to 11.2 billion won last year, and reached 5.8 billion won in the first half of this year. Over the same period, it sold 476 medical devices, more than half of the 744 units sold in all of last year. Ahn explained, “The more new equipment we sell, the greater the demand for consumables such as cartridges and nozzles, creating a structure that can generate a virtuous cycle of recurring revenue growth.”
The company is also pursuing entry into the North American market. Last month, Hironic received additional FDA clearance for the transcutaneous electrical stimulation function of its Synerjet Pro aesthetic medical device. This was its second clearance, following the device’s electrosurgical function, and secured the requirements for selling both functions in the United States.
Earlier, in July, Hironic signed an exclusive distribution agreement for the United States and Canada with Venus Concept, a Canadian aesthetic medical device company. It shipped the initial order after signing the agreement and, by the end of August, had secured orders for 20 medical devices and received full payment. Ahn said, “We expect to broaden our growth base as new sources of revenue are added, including Synerjet Pro and Miglow, a second-generation microwave device,” adding, “We expect a significant increase in consolidated revenue and earnings this year.”
Meanwhile, in June, Hironic retired all 3,995,317 treasury shares it held through cancellation against retained earnings and paid its first quarterly dividend. The total amount returned to shareholders in the first half was 31.7 billion won, comprising 27.7 billion won from the treasury share cancellation and quarterly dividends totaling 4 billion won.
