[Financial News] A giveaway that began on a secondhand marketplace led to another act of generosity, warming hearts.
On the 12th, a user shared a story on Threads, a social networking service (SNS), about how giving away a child’s shoes and clothes in the past had led to an exchange of kindness.
The poster, identified as A, began: “Around this spring, I posted a pair of shoes my second child had worn for giveaway, and while I was at it, I also put together some clothes for you. I was touched that you came with lots of snacks then, too.” A continued, “But today, I got an unexpected message offering me sweet potatoes.”
In a message that was shared publicly, the neighbor introduced herself as “a mom who received hand-me-down clothes and sneakers for her baby through Karrot some time ago,” and said, “I got a lot of sweet potatoes from the countryside, and I wanted to get in touch to see if it would be all right to leave some at your door.”
A readily expressed her gratitude and asked, “How is the baby doing?” and said, “Thank you for thinking of me. I’ll prepare a small gift, too.” A added, “I hurriedly asked you to come by tomorrow so I could get some children’s clothes ready for you,” and wrote, “I should pack some pretty clothes and shoes for you.”
A later shared an account of the exchange, saying they had received “homemade bread, sweet potatoes, and even organic pumpkin.” A said, “I wanted to return the kindness I received, so I prepared things the child needed,” adding, “It felt good that it led to another warm act of giving.”
People online who read the story responded, “I hope more heartwarming things like this happen,” “This is so lovely,” and “People often end up hurt while trying to share with good intentions, so this moved me too, just watching.”
