[Financial News]  Han Tae-jun, president of Ghent University Global Campus, will give two lectures in Incheon, presenting directions for nurturing global talent and for the future of education. He is expected to discuss a vision for making the city a destination for talent from around the world, as well as the role of university education in developing students’ potential.
According to Ghent University, President Han will deliver a keynote address on the theme “A New Vision and Future Built with Global Universities” at the 2026 Incheon International Media Conference, to be held at the small performance hall at Incheon Global Campus on the morning of the 15th. He will propose ways to put Incheon’s marine resources, including laver from Jangbongdo and its tidal flats, to use in new fields of science and industry.
He is also expected to present the vision of “Incheon, a Global Talent Circulation City 2035,” which aims to have talent from around the world stay in Incheon and return even after leaving. He plans to emphasize the value of marine research and the importance of international cooperation with the words, “The sea has no passports.”
At 6 p.m., he will give a lecture on “Wings for Our Children” at the “IGC × Sebasi Special Lecture” in the auditorium on the same campus. He will highlight the difference between preparation for entrance exams and education, and express the view that education at elementary, middle and high schools can change only if universities do. He is also expected to introduce examples of educational practices conducted by Ghent University Global Campus over the past 10 years.
In his lecture, President Han is expected to urge, “Our children already have wings,” and, “We should give them the time and opportunity to discover those wings.”
