[Financial News] LOTTE INNOVATE is joining forces with leading Vietnamese IT company CMC Group to pursue global business opportunities in new areas, including data centers and EV charging infrastructure.
LOTTE INNOVATE said on the 14th that it had signed an MOU with CMC Group on strategic business cooperation in Hanoi, Vietnam, on the 13th. The agreement was pursued to expand LOTTE INNOVATE’s local business areas by drawing on its accumulated IT business experience in Vietnam and its capabilities in new businesses developed in Korea.
Under the agreement, the two companies will explore opportunities to cooperate in five areas: hyperscale data centers, EV charging (CPO), cybersecurity, offshore IT services, and cloud services. They plan to combine LOTTE INNOVATE’s technological and operational capabilities with CMC Group’s local business network to jointly identify new customers and business opportunities.
In particular, in the data center sector, LOTTE INNOVATE will explore potential cooperation in Vietnam’s hyperscale data center market, drawing on its design, build, and operate (DBO) capabilities developed in Korea. LOTTE INNOVATE continues to expand its data center construction and operations business in Korea, strengthening its experience and technological competitiveness in the field.
In EV charging, LOTTE INNOVATE will draw on the charging infrastructure development and operations capabilities of its subsidiary EVSIS to explore local CPO business opportunities. The companies will also consider ways to cooperate by combining their expertise in cybersecurity, offshore IT services, and cloud services.
The partnership is underpinned by LOTTE INNOVATE’s long-standing business experience in Vietnam’s financial IT market. LOTTE INNOVATE has strengthened its financial systems expertise and local operational know-how through projects including the development and operation of IT systems for Vietnam’s Agribank, as well as IT infrastructure projects related to IBK Industrial Bank of Korea in Vietnam. Building on this experience, the company plans to expand its business beyond its traditional focus on financial IT and systems operations into areas such as data centers and EV charging infrastructure, and to develop Vietnam into a strategic hub for its Southeast Asia business.
CMC Group, LOTTE INNOVATE’s partner, is a leading Vietnamese IT company with more than 30 years in business. It operates across a range of fields, including software development, AI, cloud services, and digital infrastructure, and has overseas offices in South Korea, Japan, the United States, and Europe.
