[Financial News] Proceeds from a charity bazaar involving children will be used to support the daily needs of vulnerable children.
According to ChildFund Korea, a child welfare organization, on the 14th, Hi Growing Academy donated approximately 1.69 million won to the organization. The proceeds came from a bazaar held with the children. The handover ceremony took place on the 7th at Hi Growing Academy in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. The donation will be used to help provide vulnerable children with stable living conditions.
The bazaar was held at Hi Growing Academy on August 5. Around 200 children ages 5 to 9 took part, learning basic economic concepts and experiencing the value of sharing through donations. Economic education in childhood covers everyday activities such as understanding the value of money, managing allowances and spending wisely. Economic habits formed at this age can continue into adulthood.
Lee Min-ju, director of Hi Growing Academy, said, “We organized this event so that, alongside learning basic economic concepts, the children could also experience the joy and value of sharing.” Lee added, “I hope the children will see that their participation can help their neighbors and develop a willingness to practice sharing naturally.”
