[Financial News] The Busan Regional Headquarters of the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation (KICOX) said it had jointly held the “Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Safety Good Deal” campaign with the Busan Industrial Complex Integrated Safety Management Support Council on the afternoon of the 14th.
The campaign was organized to improve fire response conditions at businesses by replacing aging fire extinguishers at industrial complexes with new ones, and to strengthen disaster response capabilities through hands-on safety training.
The day’s event included collecting aging fire extinguishers, providing support to replace them with new ones, and practical training in CPR and the use of indoor fire hydrants. Various other activities were also held, including hands-on practice discharging dry-chemical fire extinguishers using discarded extinguishers.
Among the extinguishers collected, those whose safety condition—including pressure and exterior—was checked were repurposed for training, increasing the resource-recycling value of the waste. Workers were also given the opportunity to discharge fire extinguishers themselves and learn how to respond to fires in their early stages.
“Safety at industrial sites is realized only when workers experience it firsthand and can act in an emergency,” said Yuk Geun-chan, head of KICOX’s Busan Regional Headquarters. “We will continue to work with relevant agencies to help create safe industrial complexes.”
