【Financial News, Daegu—Reporter Kim Jang-uk】“We’ve come to Yeungjin College in Daegu to find outstanding talent!”
A major Japanese global information technology (IT) company has drawn attention by visiting Yeungjin College to secure outstanding talent and conducting a range of recruitment activities, including company briefings and interviews with students in different year groups.
Officials from Japan’s ISFNET Co., Ltd. visited the college on the 14th, met with students in the AI Global IT Department of the Computer Information Division, a department covered by the agreement, shared information about the company and recruitment, and set out to identify talent.
Those attending the visit included Heo Ok-in, representative of ISFNET Korea; Wakamiya Shun, deputy head of the Recruitment Department in the Human Resources Division at the Japan headquarters; and Matsuura Hiroyuki, who is in charge of New Graduate Recruitment Section 1.
After arriving at the college, the delegation greeted key officials, then met with faculty members from the department and exchanged views on students’ education and employment.
In the morning, the company held a briefing and group interviews for first-year students, introducing its business areas and providing information related to employment. It then held one-on-one interviews with second-year students, discussing their individual abilities and career paths and continuing with recruitment consultations tailored to each student.
In the afternoon, it also held additional one-on-one interviews with second-year students and group interviews with third-year students applying to ISFNET, tailoring its recruitment activities to each year group’s characteristics and stage of job preparation.
ISFNET is a global IT company headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. It operates in cloud services, solutions and IT infrastructure development, and has branches in South Korea, China, India and other countries.
ISFNET has also continued to support efforts to secure outstanding talent and nurture globally minded professionals. In March this year, Chairman Watanabe Yokiyushi personally visited the college and donated 20 million won in scholarships, among other demonstrations of the company’s continued interest.
The total amount of scholarships donated each year from 2018—the year after ISFNET signed an agreement with Yeungjin College—through this year has exceeded 150 million won. This is the fruit of nine years of global industry-academia cooperation, helping students pursue their studies and expanding their opportunities to work overseas.
