【Financial News, Incheon = Reporter Han Gap-su】 Inha University is setting out to train hands-on talent in blockchain and digital assets. It plans to connect university education with corporate workplaces so students can learn related technologies and gain experience solving real-world industry challenges.
Inha University said on the 14th that it had held a ceremony on the 12th to unveil a plaque marking its selection for the 2026 Specialized University (Graduate School) Support Program for Blockchain and to launch an industry-academia cooperation project.
In this program, led by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), Inha University, Incheon National University and Incheon Technopark are participating as a consortium. Through the program, Inha University will establish a “Blockchain and Digital Assets Microdegree” and offer industry-linked education.
The curriculum focuses not only on blockchain technology but also on building students’ understanding of financial systems related to digital assets and the associated laws and regulations. In response to the industry’s expansion into areas such as stablecoins, asset tokenization and digital payments, it is designed to give students step-by-step experience, from theoretical study and hands-on technical training to service planning and development.
The university will also run industry-academia cooperation projects in which students work in teams on practical challenges presented by companies. The five participating companies are Hana Financial TI, Korea Digital Asset (KODA), NHN KCP, Upbit and Yuga Labs. Students will gain experience in every stage of a project, from problem analysis and service design to prototype development and presenting their results, and will also receive mentoring and evaluations from corporate experts.
Inha University plans to establish programs such as competitions, internships and employment-linked initiatives to help ensure that educational outcomes translate into practical capabilities in the industry.
Inha University President Choi Ki-young said, “We will support students so they can develop interdisciplinary capabilities and practical expertise by solving real-world problems together with companies.”
