[Financial News] STCube said on the 14th that it plans to present three research abstracts on nelmastobart at the European Society for Medical Oncology Congress 2026 (ESMO Congress 2026), to be held in Madrid, Spain, from October 23 to 27.
The presentations will cover key updates on nelmastobart’s clinical development, biomarker research, and a novel combination strategy for EGFR-mutated non-small cell lung cancer. STCube is pursuing the development of precision immuno-oncology drugs targeting BTN1A1 and is also exploring the potential to expand combination therapies through preclinical research.
The first presentation is a translational study analyzing the spatial characteristics of the tumor microenvironment associated with BTN1A1, along with candidate biomarkers, in patients with refractory metastatic colorectal cancer. Based on the phase 2 trial of nelmastobart, TAS-102 and bevacizumab in combination (STCUBE-003) for colorectal cancer patients receiving third-line or later treatment, the study focuses on refining strategies for patient selection and predicting treatment response by analyzing BTN1A1 expression and various characteristics of the tumor microenvironment.
The second presentation will provide an update on the development of the ongoing phase 2 trial of nelmastobart in combination with docetaxel (STCUBE-004) in patients with advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer and high BTN1A1 expression. It is expected to outline the direction and potential of nelmastobart’s development for non-small cell lung cancer.
A preclinical study evaluating the potential of combining osimertinib with nelmastobart in EGFR-mutated non-small cell lung cancer will also be presented. Conducted separately from the clinical trial of the docetaxel combination, the study evaluated the effects of the combination in models that included ones with limited responses to osimertinib due to MET activation.
An industry source said, “Patient selection using biomarkers and the expansion of combination therapies are key factors in assessing the development value of immuno-oncology drugs,” adding, “Proving in subsequent clinical trials the potential observed in preclinical studies will be crucial to securing competitiveness going forward.”
An STCube representative said, “This presentation shows that BTN1A1 research is expanding into clinical development, biomarker research for patient selection, and novel combination strategies,” adding, “Building on this, we will further define nelmastobart’s differentiated development value and potential for expansion, and continue to accumulate evidence to support the asset’s value in the global licensing process.”
