[Financial News] Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. will showcase new semiconductors for artificial intelligence (AI) and plans to expand its production infrastructure in one place. It will exhibit next-generation high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and advanced packaging technologies, and outline plans to develop the Yongin National Industrial Complex and support partner companies.
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. said on the 14th that it will take part in 'SEDEX 2026,' a semiconductor trade show running from the 14th through the 16th at COEX in Seoul. This year's exhibition is organized into six zones: next-generation technology, cloud AI, edge AI, physical AI, semiconductor clusters, and shared growth.
In the memory section, the company will exhibit HBM4E, a high-performance memory for AI, and LPDDR-PIM, which integrates computing capabilities into memory. It will also showcase models of zHBM, a 3D memory structure that reduces the physical distance between processing units and memory, and zNAND-O, a 3D NAND solution for edge AI.
In the foundry section, the company will introduce an HBM4E base die made using a 4-nanometer process, along with advanced packaging technologies '2.3D Cube-E' and '3D Cube-H.' In the System LSI section, it will exhibit 'DIMM Solution,' which provides key chips for server memory modules; 'ISOCELL HPC,' a 200-megapixel image sensor; and 'Exynos 2600,' a mobile processor. The exhibition is designed to let visitors explore everything from the memory and system semiconductors needed for AI computing to the packaging that connects them.
The semiconductor cluster zone, newly established this year, will introduce key production and development sites as well as plans for the Yongin National Industrial Complex. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. plans to invest approximately 360 trillion won in the complex. It is preparing to begin site development and construction in 2027, with the goal of bringing its first production line into operation in October 2029. About 70 materials, parts and equipment companies and fabless firms are expected to move into the complex.
The shared growth zone will introduce programs offering financial, technological, staffing and educational support for partner companies. Since establishing the partner-company consultative body 'Hyopseonghoe' in 1981, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has pursued shared growth for 45 years. It received the highest rating for the 14th consecutive year in the '2025 Shared Growth Index Evaluation.'
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.'s DS Division will also hold a 'DS Together' event for employees of partner companies. It will provide coffee trucks at partner-company sites for two months starting this month, and plans to hold a 'Movie Day' in December for about 30,000 partner-company employees and their families.
