[Financial News] Nongshim is relaunching Stir-fried Nongshim Neoguri, which received the most requests for a comeback after it was discontinued. The move comes in response to consumers’ continued support online.
According to industry sources on the 14th, Nongshim will relaunch limited quantities of bagged and cup versions of Stir-fried Nongshim Neoguri starting on the 27th, in response to consumers’ continued requests for its return.
Stir-fried Nongshim Neoguri is a stir-fried noodle product that combines the signature thick, chewy noodles of Nongshim Neoguri with the umami of seafood and a spicy kick. It was launched in 2017 and discontinued in 2024.
Stir-fried Nongshim Neoguri is an unusual product that attracted even more consumer interest after being discontinued. According to AI analytics company Newen AI, online searches for the product rose from about 63,000 in 2024 to about 100,000 through August this year, nearly doubling. Consumers voluntarily shared reviews of the export version and recipes for recreating its flavor using Nongshim Neoguri.
Calls for its return continued steadily. Groups of consumers hoping for a relaunch formed spontaneously on social media, and Stir-fried Nongshim Neoguri accounted for the largest share of product relaunch requests received by Nongshim over the past two years. The export version ranked first among products sold at Shin Ramyun Snack Bar, an antenna shop Nongshim operates in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, demonstrating its popularity.
Ahead of the official launch, Nongshim will take advance reservations on the 14th through its online store, Nongshim Mall. Reservations are limited to 3,000 people, and each package contains 16 bags of noodles.
A Nongshim representative said, “Even after it was discontinued, consumers continued to ask for Stir-fried Nongshim Neoguri to return, and we were able to see strong interest across various channels. Since this is a product that has returned in response to consumers’ voices, we hope it will be a welcome experience for those who have been waiting.”
