The Busan Economic Promotion Agency announced on the 14th that it will hold the “Busan Craft Beer Masters Challenge” from the 16th to the 18th, each day from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., at and around the landmark site at Busan North Port.
Organized to boost Busan’s craft beer industry and expand sales channels for local small businesses, the event will offer Busan craft beer and a variety of foods against the backdrop of the Busan Harbor Bridge and the sea.
This year’s event will go beyond the existing craft beer tasting and judging event, transforming into a festival to be enjoyed with the public.
The venue will be decorated around the concept of “Vikings moored at North Port to pioneer an Arctic shipping route.” Visitors can explore the venue, sample craft beer, and take part in activities such as a stamp tour and voting by a citizen judging panel.
Eight local craft beer companies will take part in the Busan Craft Beer Competition, the highlight of the event. The year’s outstanding craft beer will be selected based on a combination of expert judging, votes from the Viking Judges (citizen judging panel), and sales during the event.
Food, performances, and other attractions will also be on offer. Small businesses in Busan’s food and beverage sector will showcase a variety of dishes that pair well with craft beer, while visitors can enjoy products and services from outstanding local small businesses at a flea market and hands-on activity booths.
YouTuber “Youth Desk” will perform on opening day, the 16th, and singer “Ssaibeogeo” on the second day, the 17th. On the final day, the 18th, the Lotte Giants cheer squad will perform, along with DJ Subin.
Agency Director Jeong Deok-won said, “This year, we have significantly strengthened the competition and participatory activities so that citizens can sample and evaluate craft beer representing Busan for themselves and enjoy it together.”
