[Financial News] A woman in her 20s cycling home from work at Jamsil Hangang Park in Seoul collided head-on with an oncoming bicycle and fell into a coma. Her older brother is seeking witnesses and dashcam footage to establish what happened.
On the 13th, a post seeking witnesses to the accident was published on the online community Bobaedream under the title “My younger sister is in a coma after a bicycle accident.”
The accident occurred at around 5:35 p.m. on the 7th on a bike path near the dock at Jamsil Hangang Park. A, who posted the message, said the woman involved in the accident was his younger sister.
According to A, his younger sister was riding along the bike path she usually used for her commute. She was wearing a helmet and riding a navy-blue bicycle when she collided head-on with an oncoming Ttareungi, Seoul’s public bike-sharing service.
The woman has not regained consciousness since the accident and is reportedly in critical condition.
The person riding the other bicycle was reportedly a man in his 20s. At the time of the accident, he was riding a white Ttareungi without a helmet and was wearing a black short-sleeved top and black pants.
A said the man riding the other bicycle was not seriously injured, but is claiming during the police investigation that his younger sister was responsible for the accident. His sister, meanwhile, is unconscious and unable to explain what happened herself.
A said they need information to establish what happened at the time of the accident. He appealed for help, saying, “I feel like I’m going crazy every day, thinking that my kind younger sister is so seriously injured that she may not be able to get back up. We desperately need to hear from anyone who witnessed the accident or has dashcam footage.”
To help find witnesses, A also shared a description of his sister’s appearance at the time of the accident. She was wearing a red jacket and a silver helmet, and her bicycle was navy blue.
People who saw the post offered suggestions for finding witnesses and wished the injured woman a recovery. They left comments such as, “Put up notices at convenience stores around the Han River and post in several cycling forums, too,” and “I hope you find a witness.”
