Kangwon Land said on the 13th that a total of 10,528 people visited the ‘Go Gil-dong’s Unfamiliar Kangwon Land’ pop-up store, held from the 3rd to the 11th at Hongdae Star Square in Mapo-gu, Seoul.
The pop-up store drew an average of 1,170 visitors a day, with attendance up about 24% from the pop-up store held last year. During the event, there were 4,185 ‘Story check-ins’ and 1,748 survey responses.
The pop-up store was designed for visitors to receive a ‘business trip report’ and complete missions in experience zones inspired by Water World, a ski resort, High1 Tower, the Coal Mine Culture Museum M650 and other attractions. Each experience took about 20 minutes, and around 10 visitors were admitted per session.
Visitors’ self-initiated social media (SNS) posts and videos also drew attention. In a survey, at least 50% of respondents said they had learned about the event through SNS or recommendations from acquaintances.
Kim Young-ho, head of public relations at Kangwon Land, said, “As reviews of the experience spread through SNS, we were able to see the interest of younger generations,” adding, “We will actively promote our integrated resort as a destination offering a variety of things to do and see beyond the casino.”
