[Financial News]  A forum will be held to discuss ways to connect global universities’ education and research capabilities with Incheon’s industries and support employment and entrepreneurship for talent from Korea and abroad.
The Incheon International Media Conference Organizing Committee said it will hold the “2026 Incheon International Media Conference” at the small auditorium of Incheon Global Campus on the 15th.
This year’s theme is “How Do Media and Education Shape Future Talent?” Some 300 people from universities, media, education, business and policy circles are expected to attend.
The Incheon Global Campus Foundation and Media Gyeongin are co-hosting the conference. Four resident universities will also participate: SUNY Korea, George Mason University Korea, Ghent University Global Campus and the University of Utah Asia Campus. In his keynote address, Ghent University President Han Tae-jun will discuss the roles of universities, cities, industry and media in developing global talent.
The discussions will cover attracting outstanding talent from overseas, building a global network of Korean talent, and ways to link with Incheon’s advanced industries. Other key topics include creating an environment for employment and entrepreneurship that connects Korean companies with global talent, and the international competitiveness of Korean talent.
Mo Se-jong, chair of the organizing committee and an honorary professor at Inha University, will moderate the discussion. Participants include Lim Chae-wan, president of the World Association for Diaspora Studies; Yoon Gwan-ok, editorial writer at the Incheon Ilbo; Park Byeong-ryul, an economics reporter at the Kyunghyang Shinmun; and Maeng Ju-seok, director of U.S. NTD Broadcasting.
The “IGC × Sebasi Special Lecture” will be held at the main auditorium of Incheon Global Campus. Speakers will include Byeon Ju-young, CEO of the Incheon Global Campus Foundation; President Han Tae-jun; Choi Jong-seong, an associate professor at SUNY Korea; Noh Hee-young, CEO of Hino Consulting Firm; and Choi Jae-bung, a professor at Sungkyunkwan University.
The foundation plans to expand cooperation between university education and research and industry and media. Byeon said, “We will move beyond being an educational space where foreign universities gather and become an innovative K-platform connecting education and research with media and industry.”
