According to industry sources on the 13th, Sohwi, an inner-beauty brand operated by Dite, an affiliate of Nudge Healthcare, is expanding its product lineup with the launch of Steady Booster Salad Gummy, made with concentrated vegetable extract. Following its apple cider vinegar (ACV) and prune gummies, this is the brand’s third gummy product, and the first to use vegetables as an ingredient.
Sohwi previously tested the market potential of gummy products through crowdfunding. Its ACV gummy, launched in 2024, raised about 210 million won in its first Wadiz campaign. The company later added a prune gummy in August last year.
According to the company, cumulative sales of the two products had surpassed 7.2 million individual units as of the end of September this year.
This trend is also in line with the “healthy pleasure” consumer trend, which combines health management with the enjoyment of eating. According to Wadiz, funding transaction value in the food category from May to July 2024 rose 132% compared with the quarterly average. At the time, products made with ACV in various forms, including crunchy snacks and gummies, also raised amounts in the 100-million-won range through crowdfunding.
Building on the sales performance of its existing products, Sohwi is diversifying its ingredients. The new product uses concentrated vegetable extract and dietary fiber. Development took about two years, during which the ingredient blend, taste and texture were adjusted. Each piece contains 1 g of sugar and 8.7 kcal.
The new product will be offered through a Wadiz crowdfunding campaign from the 29th through November 20. The strategy is to use crowdfunding as an initial sales channel, as with the existing products.
“We will continue to develop products that preserve the characteristics of plant-based ingredients while making them enjoyable to consume in everyday life,” said Choi So-young, CEO of Dite.
Meanwhile, Nudge Healthcare is a digital healthcare company that operates the health-management app CashWalk. It also runs the mental wellness service Trost and the health and diet management service Geniat, among others, and is expanding its business into the Teamwork health-management platform for businesses and public institutions and Dain, an employee assistance program (EAP) service.
