“Pay with your face, no wallet needed” ... NAVER Pay expands Facesign benefits

[Financial News] NAVER Pay (Naver Pay) is offering 10% in rewards for payments made with Facesign.
According to NAVER Pay, starting on the 13th, customers who pay with Facesign, its facial-recognition payment service, at Npay Connect merchants nationwide will earn 10% of the purchase amount in points.
The offer is available at any merchant nationwide with an Npay Connect terminal installed. Payments are accepted using Naver Pay Money or points linked to Facesign as a payment method, as well as by card. Customers can earn up to 50,000 won per month, and the offer runs through November 30.
The promotion page lets users browse all food and beverage merchants linked to Naver Place that accept Facesign payments. Nearby merchants can also be checked separately. The “Connect+” mark displayed at the bottom of a business’s details on Naver Place and NAVER Map also indicates whether Npay Connect is installed.
An online and offline media campaign, “Thanks to Your Face, Get 10% Back,” will also run during the rewards promotion, featuring influencers paying with Facesign themselves and receiving rewards. The lineup includes Kim Gyeran, Kikeuni, EBS’s popular character Pengsoo, and the mascots Hogeori and Cheolungi of the Kia Tigers and Doosan Bears.
Facesign is facial-recognition technology developed in-house by NAVER. It uses AI deep-learning models to verify the authenticity of a face and incorporates anti-spoofing technology to prevent security threats.
