[Financial News] McDonald’s Korea is expanding and relocating its headquarters, significantly strengthening its training and menu-development infrastructure, and aiming for 2 trillion won in sales and 500 stores.
According to industry sources on the 13th, McDonald’s Korea has expanded and relocated its headquarters to Booyoung Taepyeong Building in Taepyeong-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul, and is pursuing its ‘2030 Vision,’ which targets 2 trillion won in sales and 500 stores.
It will first establish a ‘Hamburger University Education Center.’ The center will have a large training facility where up to 130 people can attend classes at the same time and will offer a range of programs for store and headquarters employees. McDonald’s Korea plans to improve the quality of its training by adding in-house programs that reflect the domestic market environment and employees’ needs to the existing global curriculum.
Synergies are also expected with the new McDonald’s Taepyeong Building store, located in the basement of the headquarters building. A ‘Test Kitchen,’ a research facility for menu development, will be set up in one section of the store. McDonald’s Korea plans to use it to strengthen its menu innovation capabilities, reflecting the latest trends and consumer demand.
The workspaces were designed to let employees experience the brand’s identity naturally. The iconic Golden Arches are presented differently on each floor to express a sense of connection, while the space for meetings and collaboration has been expanded to nearly twice its previous size. The company has also expanded its break areas, including a cafeteria that recreates the atmosphere of a restaurant, a wellness room and massage booths.
Kim Ki-won, CEO of McDonald’s Korea, said, “Relocating our headquarters means more than simply moving to a new space,” and added, “Let’s begin another leap forward in this new space.”
