[Hanoi, Vietnam—Correspondent Kim Jun-seok] The 'Meet Korea 2026' event, aimed at boosting cooperation between South Korea and Vietnam in investment, trade, science and technology, and cultural industries, will be held in Dong Nai City, Vietnam, over two days, from the 14th through the 15th.
The Dong Nai City People's Committee said on the 13th, according to the Korean Embassy and other sources, that it would hold the 'Meet Korea 2026' conference locally in Dong Nai City for two days starting on the 14th, in cooperation with the South Korean Embassy in Vietnam and Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Around 400 participants are expected to attend, including officials from diplomatic missions such as the South Korean Embassy in Vietnam, officials from Vietnamese central government ministries, investment promotion agencies, business associations, and major companies from both countries.
Participants will focus on strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between South Korea and Vietnam, advancing sustainable trade, and developing high-quality human resources for the digital age. They also plan to explore a range of cooperation models in emerging industries with strong potential, including science and technology, digital transformation, and cultural industries, in line with green growth and sustainable, inclusive development.
During the event, Dong Nai City will present its local investment environment, its approach to attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), and new institutions and policies. City leaders and officials from various departments will also meet directly with Korean companies to hear and respond to their suggestions, while discussing ways to improve the investment and business environment.
The Dong Nai City government expects the event to significantly expand exchanges between the two countries in priority areas for cooperation, including advanced technology, the green economy, digital transformation, cultural industries, and talent development. It also expects the event to serve as a platform for further strengthening networks among local governments, institutions, and business communities in South Korea and Vietnam.
