[Financial News] Apartment living technology is moving beyond simple remote control, evolving into a competition to build integrated platforms covering every aspect of life in a residential complex. Beyond home IoT features for controlling lighting and heating, residents are increasingly able to handle community facility bookings, vehicle management, maintenance fee inquiries and various convenience services through a single mobile app.
According to industry sources on the 13th, smart platforms are seen as a key tool for construction companies to maintain contact with customers throughout their residency, since features can be expanded even after residents move in through software updates and external partnerships.
One prominent platform is Homeniq, the home platform developed by the construction division of Samsung C&T. It integrates home IoT controls, community bookings and vehicle management, among other services. It recently added four convenience services—home cleaning, mobile car washing, clothing collection and pet care—substantially broadening its offerings. In particular, Samsung C&T is expanding the Homeniq ecosystem beyond its own Raemian brand by partnering with complexes carrying other companies’ brands, including Hanwha Corporation E&C Division, Doosan Engineering & Construction, HS Hwaseong and SK ecoplant.

Hyundai Engineering and Construction also offers up to 38 features through its resident-only my Hills platform, including smart home controls, community bookings and service requests, and is expanding its use to previously occupied complexes as well as new developments. GS Engineering & Construction, meanwhile, operates the integrated service app Xi Home, which connects everything from pre-move-in visits to post-move-in lifestyle management. The trend of bringing fragmented residential services together on a single platform is becoming an industry standard.
Daewon plans to implement Samsung C&T’s Homeniq at Gimpo Cantavil Edition, which it is developing in Bukbyeon District 2, Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province. Daewon signed an agreement with Samsung C&T last year to introduce Homeniq and selected this project as the first complex to use it. Residents will therefore be able to access a range of residential complex services, including smart home controls and community bookings, all in one place through Homeniq.
Gimpo Cantavil Edition will comprise 612 homes across nine buildings, with five basement levels and 24 floors above ground, in Bukbyeon-dong, Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province. The homes will range from 66 to 127 square meters in exclusive-use area. The complex will also feature distinctive community facilities, including household storage rooms, a guesthouse, a fitness center, a GX room, an indoor golf practice range and a small library.
