[Financial News] A family that visited a pool villa in Gyeonggi Province said they had an unpleasant experience because of water-quality problems, including an earthy smell from the pool and cloudy-looking water. They also alleged that yellowish water came from the room’s taps and that a water filter turned brown.

On the 13th, a post appeared on social media in which a visitor to a pool villa in Gyeonggi Province raised concerns, sharing the condition of the pool and the room’s tap water.

According to A, the pool at the villa they visited with a married couple of friends and children smelled of earth, and the water was murky.

A said, “The pool water had an overpowering earthy smell and looked cloudy,” adding, “I felt a little uneasy, but went into the pool with the children.” However, A said they got out of the pool and washed the children just 20 minutes after they started swimming.

In the photos A shared, the pool water also looked cloudy, like muddy water. The water was so murky that it was difficult to clearly see the bottom.

A also raised questions about what kind of water was used in the pool. A claimed to have asked the operator whether water was being drawn from a nearby stream, but received no answer.

A complained, “I don’t know whether they’re allowed to draw water from a stream and use it,” adding, “I’ve been itching all over all day, to the point of going crazy.”

A claimed the problem was not limited to the pool. Yellowish water also came from the sink and toilet in the room, and the water filter used for washing dishes reportedly turned brown.

A said, “After feeding the children in the morning, I was washing dishes when the filter turned the color of dirt,” adding, “I regretted bringing only two filters.”

The post also included a photo of two water filters that had turned brown after use.

Online commenters continued to call for the water quality of the pool and tap water to be checked. They left comments such as, “Even if it’s stream water, it’s far too dirty,” “It looks like groundwater, but it doesn’t seem to have been properly filtered,” and “Shouldn’t the water be tested?”

However, it has not been confirmed that the pool villa used stream water or groundwater. It also remains unclear whether the water quality actually failed to meet the standards.
