[Financial News] On the 13th, the Democratic Party of Korea described North Korea’s ballistic missile launch as “a violation of a United Nations Security Council resolution.”
Han Byeong-do, floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, condemned North Korea’s launch of a ballistic missile into the East Sea the day before, calling it “a clear military provocation that threatens the lives and safety of the people,” at a meeting on parliamentary audit preparations held at the National Assembly that day. Referring to North Korean landmines planted in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), Han went on to urge, “North Korea must acknowledge responsibility for its landmine provocation and immediately halt all military provocations that threaten peace and security on the Korean Peninsula.”
He added, “Immediately after the launch, the government held an emergency security review meeting to assess its readiness and order necessary measures,” and “Our military has also stepped up surveillance and vigilance, is closely sharing information with the United States and Japan, and is preparing for further provocations.”
