[Financial News] Hyundai Green Food is the first in the food industry to offer free and discounted in-home care and hospital accompaniment services for employees’ elderly family members. The company has expanded its benefits, previously focused on raising children, to include elderly family members.
According to industry sources on the 13th, Hyundai Green Food signed an agreement with Caring, a company specializing in senior care, at its headquarters in Suji-gu, Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, to support care for employees’ elderly family members.
Through this agreement, Hyundai Green Food will become the first company in Korea’s food industry to support employees caring for elderly family members, including their parents and grandparents. The aim is to reduce the emotional and financial burden on employees of caring for or nursing their parents or grandparents and to create an environment where they can focus on work.
Employees can use Caring’s nationwide network of directly operated facilities to receive professional care services for older adults free of charge or at a discounted price. First, they can get discounted in-home care, in which a care worker visits the home and helps with household tasks for elderly family members, including meals, medication and washing. Employees can request a dedicated care worker who has completed specialized dementia-care training for family members with dementia or mild cognitive impairment. Hospital accompaniment services will also be provided free of charge for eight hours each year.
A dedicated hotline will also be set up so employees can receive free consultations. They will be offered expert advice on applying for long-term care eligibility levels, tailored to their elderly family members’ health, living environment and care needs, as well as guidance on the care services best suited to each individual and how to use them.
“As the elderly population in Korea continues to grow, family caregiving—which has focused on raising children—is expanding to include elderly family members,” said Hyundai Green Food President Park Hong-jin. “We will proactively develop a range of welfare programs that help employees care for their families and create an environment where they can focus more fully on their work.”
