Gumi food festival draws attention with a 1.5-km gourmet road

Gumi City will hold the “2026 Gumi Food Festival” for two days, from the 17th to the 18th, across Songjeong Food Street.
Held under the slogan “Come autumn, Gumi (literally, ‘taste’) is what you’ll crave~,” the festival will be an urban food event bringing together food, performances, hands-on activities and unique attractions.
Mayor Kim Jang-ho said, “This year’s festival has been designed to go beyond simply sampling food. Visitors can eat, see and enjoy themselves along the entire 1.5-km stretch while making special memories,” and stressed, “I hope you’ll come with family, friends or loved ones to enjoy Gumi’s diverse flavors and the romance of autumn to the fullest. I’ll also pay close attention to safety and convenience so that every visitor leaves wanting to come back.”
Especially this year, visitors will be welcomed by food made with Gumi’s agricultural specialties; the Local Restaurant Zone, featuring local eateries; the Samgyeop Grilling Zone, where the aroma of grilling meat draws people in; the Gumi Milgari Bakery & Cafe Zone, where they can enjoy bread and coffee; and the Asian Gourmet Zone, offering dishes from across Asia.
Also on offer are the Gumi Dang Kimchi-Mac Zone, where visitors can enjoy Gumi Danggim Lager with chicken; the Local Makgeolli Zone, showcasing local drinks and regional charm; the Kids’ Tasty Treats Zone, with food and fun for children; and the Food Tech Exhibition & Experience Zone, where visitors can discover new food technologies and take part in activities.
With about 200 different menu items available throughout the festival grounds, visitors can find dishes to suit their tastes, whether they come with family, a partner or friends. Professional chefs have also provided menu consultations for participating businesses, further raising the flavor and quality of the festival’s food.
The Kids’ Tasty Treats Zone offers a variety of food and hands-on activities tailored to children, so parents can enjoy local flavors while the children enjoy food and activities of their own.
KCM, with his deeply expressive voice; Go Yoo-jin, who bridges generations with Flower’s hit songs; and The One, known for his explosive vocals, will take the stage to fill the deepening autumn night with music.
As the sun sets, Songjeong Food Street transforms once again. The Food Tech & Experience Zone will feature regional companies and universities presenting hands-on activities that combine new technologies and ideas. A QR-code ordering system has also been introduced so visitors can check menus and order on their smartphones, helping reduce crowding at the venue and wait times for orders.
On the 17th and 18th, the festival on Songjeong Food Street begins the moment you start wondering what to eat. By day, visitors can walk the 1.5-km gourmet route, sample a variety of dishes and see distinctive costumes; in the evening, they can enjoy a perfect autumn night with live performances.
