MetLife Life Insurance said on the 13th that attendees at the headquarters relocation ceremony held on the 6th at G1 Seoul in Jongno-gu, Seoul, included Linden Oliver, president of MetLife Asia; Park Hye-kyung, chair of the MetLife Life Insurance board; Song Young-rok, CEO of MetLife Life Insurance; and Lee Jae-jin, chair of the National Office and Financial Services Workers’ Union, among others.
The move from the former MetLife Tower in Gangnam-gu began in September and was officially completed this month.
The event included the presentation of wishes from the ‘Wish Tree,’ where employees had written down goals and hopes for the new headquarters, as well as ‘Workspace Decorating Awards’ to recognize employees who had creatively decorated their new workspaces.
MetLife Life Insurance explained that the headquarters relocation was more than a simple move to a new workspace; it was a change intended to strengthen communication and cooperation among employees and build a more agile organizational culture. In practice, teams that had been spread across different floors were brought together in a larger, more connected space, creating a work environment that improves collaboration between departments and the efficiency of decision-making.
The new headquarters was designed around the ‘MetLife Village’ concept. Spaces for focused individual work, collaboration and community were arranged to create stronger connections between departments. Korean design elements, including roof tiles, lattice patterns and the five traditional colors, also lend the space a distinct local character.
President Linden Oliver said, “This is an important milestone in MetLife Life Insurance’s journey alongside its customers for more than 30 years, and it demonstrates our firm commitment to the Korean market. We will further strengthen collaboration and innovation by creating an environment where employees can communicate and work together more closely.”
CEO Song Young-rok said, “Through this new work environment, we will further bring together our organizational capabilities and focus on providing customers with differentiated value and experiences. Going forward, we will continue to support a more secure future for our customers through customer-centered innovation.”
