[Financial News] A heartwarming story has emerged about a mother who, after taking a half day off and coming home while suffering from the flu and a 40°C fever, found seaweed soup and a handwritten note her fourth-grade son had left on the dining table.
On the 12th, a post and photos appeared on the social media platform Threads. The post began, “I caught the flu and my fever was raging at 40°C.”
The author, identified as A, said, “I caught the flu, my fever was raging at 40°C, and I was in the worst pain ever. I hastily gave my son bread for breakfast and struggled to get to work.” She added, “My body couldn’t take it, so I eventually took a half day off and came home.”
When A got home, she was stunned to see food set out on the dining table. Before leaving for school, her fourth-grade son had used a meal kit to make seaweed soup and left a handwritten note he had written himself, along with a glass of water.
A said, “Because I have to start work early, I always leave before my child. My child is busy eating the meal I’ve set out, cleaning up, and getting to school alone. It was the day I realized that I wasn’t just giving love wholeheartedly—I was receiving it back twofold.” She described how moved she was.
A released photo showed a pot of seaweed soup her son had lovingly prepared, along with a handwritten note, drawing attention. A glass of water had also been placed beside the soup.
Netizens were full of admiration for the thoughtfulness of the fourth-grade boy. They sent wishes for A’s speedy recovery and messages of support, writing, “I’m tearing up at how thoughtful he was to leave even a glass of water,” “You can tell from a single photo what kind of love the mother gave her child as she raised him,” and “I think he’ll grow up to be a warm and popular adult.”
