Sejong City announced on the 13th that it will hold the 2026 Chungcheongbuk-do & Chungcheong Region Naeil Ieum Job Fair on the 16th at the OSCO Convention & Exhibition Center in Cheongju. The fair is jointly hosted by the Chungcheong region’s four cities and provinces, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and the Chungbuk Regional Office of SMEs and Startups.
The fair is being held as part of the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s cross-regional employment cooperation initiative, the Chungcheong Region Growth Industries Naeil Ieum Project. It is expected to serve as a large-scale employment platform that breaks down regional boundaries and effectively connects leading companies in the Chungcheong region with local talent, including young and middle-aged people.
A total of 114 leading companies will take part in the event, spanning the biohealth, future mobility and semiconductor sectors, key growth engines for the Chungcheong region. The participating companies plan to set up on-site recruitment booths and conduct one-on-one job interviews and recruitment consultations with job seekers.
A variety of additional programs will also be offered to help job seekers strengthen their practical job-hunting skills, including recruitment briefings by major companies, one-on-one career consulting, resume reviews and interview coaching. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Details are available on the official Sejong City Hall website and the job fair website.
Kim Yong-jun, head of Sejong City’s Corporate Support Division, said, “I hope this fair will give job seekers in Sejong the chance to access quality recruitment information from leading companies in the Chungcheong region and serve as a stepping stone to expanding their real employment opportunities.” He added, “We will continue to strengthen employment support policies that benefit both companies seeking workers and job seekers through close cooperation among local governments in the Chungcheong region.”
Meanwhile, the fair is an example of cross-regional administrative cooperation taking place as discussions on a Chungcheong-wide alliance, including the launch of a special local government for the region, take shape. In line with the growing integration of daily-life zones across the Chungcheong region, where people’s homes and workplaces may be in different cities or provinces, the plan is to move beyond employment policies pursued separately by local governments and accelerate the development of integrated labor-market infrastructure linking South Chungcheong Province, North Chungcheong Province, Daejeon and Sejong.
