[Financial News] A charity bazaar will be held to help vulnerable groups get through the winter, with proceeds from sales of clothing, household goods and other items. Some items will be available at up to 80% off their regular retail prices.
According to the Korean Red Cross on the 13th, the 2026 Red Cross Bazaar will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the 19th at B1 Hall on the first floor of COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The event is being held for the 43rd time.
Government ministries, financial and public institutions, foreign embassies in Korea, companies and others will set up some 70 sales booths. Items on offer will include clothing from domestic brands, cosmetics, agricultural and fishery products, domestic and international specialties, and pre-owned luxury goods. The donated-goods section will sell clothing, bags, accessories and household items.
The proceeds will go toward the Gift of Love project, which provides needed goods to vulnerable groups at the end of the year. The beneficiaries are neighbors in need who receive care from Red Cross volunteers.
Last year, 11 types of items, including winter supplies and daily necessities, were prepared for 3,000 elderly people from vulnerable groups. A total of 2,000 children and teenagers received book and culture gift certificates worth 30,000 won each.
The Korean Red Cross’s matching-support program pairs households in welfare blind spots with volunteers, who provide emotional support through home visits. It also helps them in their daily lives by providing basic necessities such as rice and side dishes.
The Red Cross Bazaar began in 1984. It is organized by the Special Advisory Committee on Women’s Volunteer Service at the Korean Red Cross headquarters and sponsored by the Suyo Volunteer Association.
