[Financial News] Director Bae Sang-hyeon, whose game was the first Korean title to be named a finalist for the IGF’s Nuovo Award, an indie game award, held the first demo event in Korea for his new game, All Adrift (ALL ADRIFT).
According to Media Experience Studio Bitgen on the 13th, the game was demonstrated at the subculture event Illustar Fest 14, held at KINTEX in Ilsan on the 10th and 11th, and illustrated cards with QR codes to download the demo and an art-making book were sold at the venue.
All Adrift is director Bae’s first new game in six years since Chasing Light. Chasing Light was the first Korean game to be named a finalist for the Nuovo Award at the IGF, which recognizes experimental and original games.
The new game bills itself as a ‘space surgery RPG’ that wets fire and burns water. Every phenomenon and law in its universe is written in sentences in a ‘Declaration,’ and players change reality by entering the Declaration and cutting, overwriting, and splicing its contents.
Visitors took on the role of the protagonist, Xian Lightchaser, an imperial intelligence officer known as a ‘space surgeon,’ and experienced the core gameplay. Players operate on the Declaration to change the world, infiltrate under false identities, or look into other people’s inner selves to uncover the truth behind events.
The event was held under the concept of a ‘funeral for the version rated for ages 15 and up.’ The demo on show had been rated suitable for ages 15 and up, and some elements are planned for revision with the aim of obtaining a 12-and-up rating.
As part of the ALL ADRIFT East Asia Tour 2026, Bitgen plans to showcase the game in China at WePlay EXPO 2026 this November, following events in Japan last August and at the current event in Korea. All Adrift supports 14 languages, including Korean, and is scheduled for release on the PC gaming platform Steam in 2027.
