[Financial News] Meta Platforms has unveiled a new AI model regarded as capable of surpassing models from leading companies in artificial intelligence (AI), including OpenAI and Anthropic.
Meta Platforms said on the 12th local time that it would launch 'Muse Wonder' and 'Muse Wonder Full,' its top-tier AI model series.
Meta Platforms said the models, developed by its Meta Superintelligence Lab (MSL) using the computing infrastructure at its own gigawatt-scale data center 'Prometheus,' can perform agentic tasks in professional fields such as law, finance and healthcare, as well as software coding. The company said they stand shoulder to shoulder with leading models from OpenAI, Anthropic and others in the industry.
Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg introduced the models, saying, “If Muse Spark was our first model family, the much larger and more advanced Muse Wonder has taken us to the cutting edge.”
Alexander Wang, Meta Platforms' chief AI officer (CAIO), who oversees the company's AI business, also told Bloomberg News, “These are truly frontier models,” adding, “I’m confident they’re more than competitive with the best models currently on the market.” In other words, they are products capable of competing with OpenAI or Anthropic.
Indeed, AI model evaluator Artificial Analysis gave 'Muse Wonder' an Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index (AAII) score of 52, placing it in a tie for seventh behind Anthropic's Claude Fable 5.1, OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra and Google's Gemini 4 Argon, each with 53 points.
'Muse Wonder Full' scored 56 on the AAII, tying for second behind the current leading model, Claude Opus 5.5, with 58 points.
A key feature of Muse Wonder is 'Active Memory,' which focuses on powering agents and remembers users' conversation histories, preferences and habits.
It also features 'Active Focus,' which enables it to try different approaches on its own and see a task through to completion, even when errors arise while it is handling complex and ambiguous tasks.
Accordingly, Meta Platforms plans to incorporate Muse Wonder into its AI agent app, Muse.
Meta Platforms said it had also strengthened safety, including measures to prevent personal information leaks and bolster defenses against cyberattacks.
The new AI models are available starting today through an application programming interface (API) and coding tools for developers. However, Muse Wonder Full is available only to paid subscribers.
Buoyed by the announcement, Meta Platforms shares closed the regular session at $742.96, up 3.38% from the previous day's close.
