“Someone was trapped between the boat and the truck...” Fatal trailer collision in Taean leaves 1 dead and 3 injured

[Financial News] A frightening crash occurred on a road near a beach in Taean, South Chungcheong Province, when a 1-ton truck struck a boat trailer attached to an SUV, killing one person and injuring three.
According to police and fire authorities on the 12th, at around 6:30 p.m. that day, a 1-ton truck driven by A, who was in their 60s, rear-ended the boat trailer of an SUV traveling ahead on a one-lane road at the entrance to Eoeundol Beach in Padori, Sowon-myeon, Taean County, South Chungcheong Province.
Immediately after the crash, a witness urgently called 119 to report, “Someone is trapped between the truck and the boat.” Responding paramedics found the truck driver, A, in cardiac arrest at the scene and rushed the driver to hospital, but the driver ultimately died.
It was also determined that three visitors were aboard the boat being carried on the trailer at the time of the crash. The truck struck the boat directly, seriously injuring a man in his 60s who was aboard. Two women, one in her 60s and the other in her 40s, sustained minor injuries and are receiving treatment at a hospital.
Police suspect that truck driver A failed to keep a proper lookout and did not notice the boat trailer ahead in time, causing the crash. They are investigating the exact circumstances, including by questioning witnesses.
