[Financial News] The Lotte Giants capped the professional baseball regular season with a win, finishing on a high note. Lotte’s “hit machine,” Víctor Reyes, etched his name in KBO League history by setting an unprecedented single-season record with 211 hits.
Lotte beat the Doosan Bears 7-4 on the road in their final regular-season game on the 12th at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul.
The chief architect of the win and the record-setting star was Reyes, who started as the leadoff designated hitter. He went 4-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs. After an RBI hit in the second and a single up the middle in the fourth gave him multiple hits early, Reyes launched a solo homer over the left-field wall in the top of the sixth—his 18th of the season—to become the first player in KBO League history to reach 210 hits. He added a clean single up the middle in his final at-bat in the top of the eighth, ending the season in style with 211 hits.
Reyes pulled ahead of second-place Choi Won-jun (kt wiz), who had 208 hits after collecting three hits that day and chasing him until the end. Reyes became the first foreign hitter and only the second player in KBO history to lead the league in hits for three consecutive seasons. Since making his KBO League debut in 2024, he has appeared in every game—144 per season—for three straight seasons and recorded exactly 600 hits in all, demonstrating remarkable consistency.

A notable milestone was also reached on the mound. Starter Park Se-woong allowed three runs, one earned, over four innings, taking his season total past 144 innings. Lotte thus became the first team in the 10-team era to have all five of its starting pitchers—Elvin Rodriguez, Jeremy Beasley, Na Kyun-an, Kim Jin-wook and Park Se-woong—surpass the 144-inning qualification threshold.
At the plate, Han Dong-hee’s two-run homer in the first and Son Seung-bin’s solo shot in the second set the tone early, while the bullpen held on to the lead to the end.
With the win in the finale, Lotte finished the season in seventh place, one spot higher than the day before, with a record of 64 wins, 3 ties and 77 losses. It was the team’s fourth consecutive seventh-place finish, and manager Kim Tae-hyung’s three-year contract also expired with the game. Doosan, which had secured fifth place early, lost on a bullpen day aimed at assessing its pitching staff. The Bears will begin the postseason Wild Card Series against fourth-place LG Twins with Game 1 on the 14th.
