[Financial News] The 2026 Korean pro baseball regular season ended with total attendance topping 12.77 million, setting a new all-time record.
According to the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO), all three games played on the final day of the regular season on the 12th—the Lotte-Doosan game at Jamsil (23,750), the KT-Samsung game in Daegu (24,000), and the LG-KIA game in Gwangju (20,500)—were sellouts. Total attendance across this year’s 720 games was 12,770,551, surpassing the previous single-season record of 12,312,519 set last year. Average attendance for the season also rose by 636 from last year, to 17,737.
Individual teams also posted impressive attendance figures. The Samsung Lions drew a cumulative home attendance of 1,717,050, alongside a sellout for their final regular-season game, becoming the first of the 10 teams to surpass 1.7 million in attendance. The Doosan Bears, who played their final regular-season home game at Jamsil Baseball Stadium—which is set to be demolished after this season—also drew 1,507,522, topping 1.5 million for the first time since the team was founded.
This year, as many as seven teams—including the Samsung Lions and Doosan Bears, as well as the LG Twins (1,622,238), Kia Tigers (1,299,383), KT Wiz (1,022,972), Kiwoom Heroes (935,849), and NC Dinos (902,905)—broke their own single-season attendance records. In addition, eight teams surpassed one million in attendance, capping a season of record-breaking success at the gate.
