[Financial News] Shocking eyewitness accounts have emerged that a man who was killed by a Siberian tiger at a wildlife park in Britain displayed bizarre behavior just before the incident and jumped into the enclosure himself.
According to the British daily The Times on the 11th (local time), a man believed to be in his early 20s died after climbing into a Siberian tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park on the afternoon of the 10th.
According to eyewitnesses, the man’s death was entirely the result of his own sudden actions. Ella Ford, 24, a visitor who had come to the park with her boyfriend, described the horrific scene: “A man wearing headphones was wandering around the enclosure, then climbed over the fence and jumped inside. He crawled straight toward the tiger.”
Anthony Hunt, 22, who first saw the man while parking, gave an even more shocking account. He said, “The man was walking quickly and dancing with headphones on,” and “he roughly shoved another female visitor who was trying to stop him, climbed onto the fence, and then jumped down.” Hunt continued, “It was like a performance. He sat in the viewing area, crawled on all fours, and bowed to the tiger as if praying. It was as if he were waiting for the tiger.”

Another visitor said that just before the incident, the man had even casually asked a complete stranger to take his picture with the tiger in the background.
Footage of the incident that spread online captured the man’s anguished cries of “Stop, no!” as he belatedly realized the severity of the situation. Park staff immediately fired sonic weapons and struggled to separate him from the tiger, but the tragedy was over in just minutes. By the time emergency responders arrived, the man had already died after being severely bitten on his neck, chest, and other parts of his body.
In the wake of the incident, Yorkshire Wildlife Park closed temporarily on the 11th. The zoo expressed its deep condolences to the bereaved family and firmly stated that it would not euthanize the tiger involved in the incident.
Local police have informed the victim’s family of the tragic news and are arranging support. Opened in 2009, Yorkshire Wildlife Park covers about 1.05 million square meters, and the Siberian tiger enclosure where the tragedy occurred spans about 7,900 square meters.
