[Financial News] On the 12th, President Lee Jae-myung received credentials at Cheong Wa Dae from newly appointed resident ambassadors to Korea from eight countries, including Honduras, Slovenia and Norway.
Kang Yoo-jung, senior spokesperson for Cheong Wa Dae, said in a written briefing that President Lee met individually with the ambassadors after the credential presentation ceremony and discussed ways to develop bilateral relations.
The presentation of credentials is a diplomatic procedure in which an ambassador presents to the head of state of the host country the credentials issued by the head of state of the sending country. This was the sixth such ceremony since the launch of the People's Sovereignty Government.
Those attending the ceremony were Vivian de Pierrefeu Midense, Honduras’s ambassador to Korea; Miriam Teresa Mozugan, Slovenia’s ambassador to Korea; Espen Fredrik Larsen, Norway’s ambassador to Korea; Melis Mamadaliev, Kyrgyzstan’s ambassador to Korea; Fatou Gaye Ngom, Senegal’s ambassador to Korea; Ahmad Erfanian, Iran’s ambassador to Korea; Fatih Yıldız, Türkiye’s ambassador to Korea; and Donatas Tamulaitis, Lithuania’s ambassador to Korea.
President Lee congratulated them on taking up their posts and asked them to work to expand cooperation across various fields so it could bring practical benefits to both countries.
The ambassadors conveyed greetings from their respective heads of state and emphasized the importance of cooperation with Korea. They said they would work to expand mutual benefits by combining their countries’ strengths in advanced industries, the defense industry and culture, as well as in the economy, trade and investment.
