[Financial News] MiraeN’s educational foundation, the Mokjeong Future Foundation, began accepting entries on the 12th for the 13th Future Education Award, which seeks to identify creative lesson research and educational innovation ideas from teachers in the field.
This year, the Future Education Award revamped its categories to reflect rapidly changing education trends and social issues, with the goals of strengthening public education and nurturing future talent. Entries will be accepted from October 12 through December 11.
A new topic has been added to this year’s competition, seeking examples of edtech lessons that use instructional support services such as M-teacher, as well as lesson research incorporating emerging technologies such as AI and virtual reality. In the character education category, entries will also be accepted for educational research and improvement initiatives aimed at preventing digital crimes against young people, including deepfake-related sex crimes and illegal online gambling, alongside examples of cross-curricular lessons.
Eligibility has also been expanded. To strengthen links between kindergarten and elementary school curricula, joint teams that include kindergarten teachers can now participate, with an elementary school teacher serving as the team representative.
There are four categories: Future Education Research, Character Education Innovation, Special Education Research, and Future Growth (pre-service teachers). Eligible applicants include in-service and pre-service teachers at elementary, middle, high, and special schools nationwide, as well as kindergarten teachers. Applications can be submitted through MiraeN’s M-teacher teaching support platform.
Awards will be given to a total of 15 teams and individuals, with a total prize pool of 37 million won. One grand-prize team in the combined Future Education Research and Character Education Innovation categories will receive 10 million won and 300 books for its school. The winners will be announced on January 30, 2027, following an evaluation by a preliminary review panel of in-service teachers and a review by education experts.
A Mokjeong Future Foundation representative said, “As we have revamped the categories to reflect changes in the education field and expanded eligibility, we hope to see strong interest and participation from teachers who have built up classroom experience and research achievements in the field.”
