[Financial News] CJ Olive Young Corporation has partnered with global beauty retailer Sephora and completed the launch of its 'Olive Young K-Beauty Edit' in 48 stores and online across four Asian markets: Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong.
According to CJ Olive Young Corporation on the 12th, Olive Young K-Beauty Edit is a space in Sephora stores showcasing K-beauty products selected by Olive Young.
Olive Young K-Beauty Edit recently launched at 18 locations in Malaysia, nine in Singapore, 13 in Thailand and eight in Hong Kong. It showcases 12–17 brands in each market, including Dr. Althea, ma:nyo, Make P:rem, BIOHEAL BOH, beplain and celimax, with up to around 120 product varieties.
For its expansion into Asian markets, it is focusing on skincare products such as cleansers, serums and creams, taking into account the hot, humid climate and strong ultraviolet exposure.
The company is also holding events to expand engagement with local consumers. From the 8th through the 14th, it is running a pop-up event at ION Orchard, a shopping mall in Singapore, offering skin analysis services and more. Participating brands are being presented under four themes: slow aging, skin barrier care, pore and blemish care, and hydration.
Southeast Asia, where Olive Young is now expanding through Sephora, is a region with strong interest in K-beauty and significant growth potential. Of ASEAN's population of 700 million, 34% are young people aged 15–34. Singapore and Thailand ranked among the top five countries of origin for foreign customers making purchases at Olive Young stores in Korea this year.
Olive Young has expanded its collaboration with Sephora since signing an official partnership in January. At Sephora stores in the United States, where the products launched in August, the average daily sales of participating brands including Rejuran, Arencia and Torriden had doubled by the end of September compared with August.
Olive Young plans to expand the K-Beauty Edit to Sephora stores in Canada, Australia, the UK, the Middle East and elsewhere next year.
A CJ Olive Young Corporation representative said, "Through our collaboration with Sephora, we are expanding opportunities for promising Korean K-beauty brands to enter major global retail channels," adding, "We will broaden K-beauty's global consumer base by reflecting consumer data and trends in each market."
