“Up to 50% Off” Deals at Sinpyeong Alley Market’s ‘Half-Price Road Festa’

[Financial News] A place where local merchants, residents and visitors can enjoy themselves together and share in the benefits will be created at a traditional market in Busan, with steep half-price discounts and generous free giveaways.
The Busan Economic Promotion Agency announced on the 12th that it will hold the ‘Sinpyeong Alley Market Half-Price Road Festa’ from the 15th to the 17th in and around Sinpyeong Alley Market in Saha-gu.
During the event, 5,000-won discount coupons will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, two per person, at the top of every hour from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. each day. The coupons can be used on purchases of 10,000 won or more, offering discounts of up to 50%.
Customers who bring receipts for purchases of 5,000 won or more can take part in a ‘No-Lose Roulette’ event, with prizes including toilet paper, rubber gloves and beer coupons. A ‘Receipt Raffle’ will also be held at 7:30 p.m. each day, with 50,000 won worth of Onnuri gift certificates awarded in an on-site drawing.
Generous free giveaways and hands-on, participatory programs are also planned to draw visitors to the market.
Each day during the event, 100 pieces each of tofu, sirutteok (steamed rice cake) and sangtu-gwaja (Korean bean-paste pastries) will be given away free on a first-come, first-served basis. A ‘Free Puffed-Grain Giveaway (Pop-pop~!)’ event will also add to the nostalgia and fun of markets of old, with the familiar sounds of a traditional market and the nutty flavor of puffed grains.
There will also be a food zone at Dongmae Plaza where visitors can enjoy five kinds of food prepared by the merchants’ association, as well as a tuho (arrow-throwing) game, a residents’ singing contest and an autumn-themed photo zone, offering visitors special memories.
