[Financial News] Lotte ON, Lotte Shopping Co., Ltd.'s e-commerce platform, received a Presidential Commendation in recognition of its support for expanding online sales channels for traditional markets and small businesses.
Industry sources said on the 12th that Lotte ON received a Presidential Commendation at the 2026 Awards for Contributions to Revitalizing Traditional Markets and Shopping Districts, held on the 9th at Art Center Goma in Gongju, South Chungcheong Province.
The awards, organized by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Small Enterprise and Market Service, recognize outstanding markets and merchants, as well as support organizations and groups, that have contributed to revitalizing traditional markets and shopping districts. Recipients are selected based on their contributions to strengthening the competitiveness of traditional markets and small businesses and revitalizing local economies.
Since 2021, Lotte ON has operated the win-win partnership project for small and medium-sized enterprises and small businesses, “ON DREAM,” providing support for online sales. It assists businesses with excellent products but limited e-commerce experience and sales capabilities by offering support with joining the platform, operational training, dedicated promotional events, and exposure for promotional content.
In April last year, it opened the Onnuri Win-Win Store and expanded its support for traditional-market and neighborhood-business merchants seeking to enter online markets. It offers step-by-step programs, helping merchants join and operate on the platform through online training and on-site consulting, and providing marketing support using the platform. About 950 traditional markets have joined and are reaching online customers.
Lotte ON plans to strengthen its support so that merchants can continue selling steadily after joining the platform. Its aim is to showcase competitive products from traditional markets and local areas to consumers nationwide and establish a foundation for small businesses to grow in the online market.
Kim Jang-hoon, executive director of Lotte ON’s Product Division, said, “This Presidential Commendation recognizes our continued efforts to help traditional markets and small businesses meet new customers online and grow. We will continue to draw on Lotte ON’s e-commerce capabilities and diverse online and offline channels to support the sustained growth of traditional markets and small businesses and help them expand their sales channels.”
