[Financial News] CHA Hospital and CHA Bio Group are setting out to recruit specialists to strengthen their research and development (R&D) capabilities in cell and gene therapies and expand their global business. The group plans to bolster its business infrastructure, from research and development through production, centered on the Cell and Gene Therapy Integrated Bio Cluster, “CGB (Cell Gene Bioplatform),” under development in Pangyo’s Second Techno Valley.
CHA Hospital and CHA Bio Group announced on the 12th that they are publicly recruiting executives, professors and researchers in the cell and gene therapy field. Applications will be accepted through the recruitment website until the 21st.
Positions are available in areas including stem cell and immune cell research, gene correction and editing, global business development (BD), regulatory affairs (RA), cell culture and processing, and good manufacturing practice (GMP) for pharmaceuticals. In the longevity field, the group is recruiting specialists in the culture and differentiation of pluripotent and adult stem cells. In the United States and Japan, it will hire staff in cell culture and processing, production and quality. Candidates with relevant experience and expertise are set to be recruited as executives, including research institute directors, or as professors.
This recruitment drive is intended to secure the personnel needed to launch CGB, which the group is developing as a key hub. Located in Pangyo’s Second Techno Valley, CGB will have a total floor area of approximately 66,115 square meters and will link research and development, clinical trials and production of cell and gene therapies. Facilities to be established in stages include a biobank, cGMP manufacturing facilities, research facilities, an open innovation center for venture companies and startups, and contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) facilities.
CHA Hospital and CHA Bio Group plan to promote the commercialization of research results by strengthening collaboration among industry, academia, research institutes and hospitals, with CGB at the center. Building on their stem cell and immune cell research capabilities, they are expanding development of treatments for rare and intractable diseases and are also cultivating longevity—the pursuit of a longer healthy lifespan—as a next-generation growth driver.
The group also operates programs to develop research talent. It offers eligible personnel the opportunity to be appointed as professors and supports the “R&D Doctoral Program,” a PhD program organized by research field, and “CHA Bio-MBA,” which combines bio and healthcare education. It also runs a “Global Expert Program” that provides outstanding personnel with opportunities for overseas training in countries including the United States and Australia.
