[Financial News] As the Lotte Group works across the board to strengthen its competitiveness through AI transformation, Lotte Chilsung Beverage is stepping up efforts to improve work efficiency by holding an in-house artificial intelligence (AI) competition and identifying innovations that can be put into practice immediately.
Industry sources said on the 12th that Lotte Chilsung Beverage held an awards ceremony for its “2026 AI Competition” on the 8th at Lotte World Tower in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
A total of 336 employees took part in the competition and submitted 198 proposals. The company identified innovative uses of AI across a range of fields, including human resources, sales, and finance.
The grand prize went to the Cloud at Company Dinners team (Pros Oh Dong-geun and Cho Min-gyu), which developed a program to automatically calculate pallet-loading patterns for new product containers. The program streamlines a task that previously took about an hour of manual work using computer-aided design (CAD), allowing it to be completed in about 30 seconds. This saves about 300 hours of work annually and provides a basis for considering logistics efficiency from the early stages of product development.
The top excellence awards went to projects including a career-development mapping service for HR management by job role, a system for collecting information on new restaurants and automatically forwarding it to dealers, and the automatic generation of analysis sheets and budget reports based on enterprise resource planning (SAP) expense data.
Lotte Chilsung Beverage plans to refine the outstanding cases identified in the competition to fit the company’s actual work environment and roll them out companywide.
A Lotte Chilsung Beverage representative said, “The goal of this competition is to identify and improve projects that can increase efficiency and productivity in actual work. We will continue to support the creation of an environment where employees can actively use AI in their work.”
