[Financial News] [Financial News] Korea Investment & Securities said APR continues to post strong growth, with a record number of its products ranking in Amazon’s beauty category, and maintained its Buy rating and 520,000-won price target. In a report on the 12th, Kim Myeong-ju, a researcher at Korea Investment & Securities, said, “Exchange-rate fluctuations have increased uncertainty around earnings estimates, but overwhelming top-line growth will offset the negative impact,” adding, “The stock could recover once the uncertainty is resolved.”
During Amazon Prime Big Deal Days, held on the 6th and 7th, online spending in the United States totaled $9.86 billion, up 8.5% from the same period a year earlier. Although the figure fell short of the initial forecast of $9.9 billion, APR improved its product rankings on Amazon after the event.
Uncertainty surrounding earnings stems from the early adoption of IFRS 18. Since the first quarter of this year, APR has been reflecting in operating profit the foreign-exchange impact on trade receivables and payables related to its operations.
Researcher Kim forecast, “It is difficult to estimate earnings precisely, but considering cosmetics exports and the trend in APR’s Amazon product rankings, top-line growth will partially offset the negative impact of exchange rates.” Accordingly, he expected third-quarter operating profit to be no lower than Korea Investment & Securities’ estimate of 183.1 billion won.
The company’s product competitiveness is also strengthening. In addition to its existing Zero Pore Pad, its PDRN Peptide Serum and Collagen Jelly Cream are also maintaining high rankings on Amazon.
Researcher Kim said, “The number of hero products driving growth is increasing, making it likely that the Medicube brand’s life cycle will be a long one,” adding, “With the current 12-month forward P/E at around 17 times, the valuation is also highly attractive.”
